Amid renewed fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan since the weekend, a Turkish hacker group launched attacks on Armenian government websites on Tuesday, causing long shutdowns.
The attacks by the hacker team named "Aslan Neferler Tim" (which can roughly be translated as Lion Privates Team) caused blackouts on government websites including defense, energy, agriculture ministries' sites, in addition to various other government agencies.
In a Facebook post, the group claimed that their attacks will increase.
The group had earlier claimed responsibility for the attacks on the websites of Belgian government agencies, Dutch right-wing politician Geert Wilders, the Armenian Central Bank, and the main webpage of renowned hacker movement Anonymous.
