Ukraine NSDC adopts Cyber Security Strategy


Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) adopted on Wednesday a new Cyber Security Strategy, also approving a new military-administrative division of the state, the NSDC press service has told UNIAN.

"The Cyber Security Strategy of Ukraine has been adopted at the meeting, as the basis, in view of the challenges our country is facing: the aggression of the Russian Federation, the increasing trend of using cyberspace by the intelligence agencies, special military structures, terrorists, and criminals," reads the statement.

The press service noted that Cyber Security Strategy provides for the development of the a national cyberspace protection system, for timely detection and neutralization as well as prevention of cyber threats, taking into account the best practices of the leading NATO member states and the EU.
 Also, the Strategy refers to coordination, cooperation, as well as allocation of authority and responsibility of the security and defense sector agencies in matters of cyber security, cyber defense, and countering cyber terrorism and cyber crime.

In addition, the National Security Council approved a new military-administrative division of Ukraine. "The members of the Defense Council of Ukraine approved a new military-administrative division of the territory of Ukraine, which regulates the zoning into military and administrative areas in the interest of national defense," the statement reads.
